Holly Pfeiffer is the founder of Real Literacy Consulting, seeing the need to create a service that makes literacy education real – for everyone. Students, educators, parents, and caregivers have benefitted from her knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and down-to-earth approach to teaching reading and literacy skills. With over 20 years of experience in literacy education, Holly has been a teacher, trainer, reading specialist, speaker, student advocate, and parent educator. Ultimately, she’s pursued her work with passion and purpose to make the lives others brighter and better through literacy.

Here’s where it all began. While growing up in Ohio, Holly was approached by her high school English teacher and asked if she’d consider tutoring a new student. He was from Korea and unfamiliar with speaking, reading, and writing in English.  She learned early on that when there is mutual effort and trust, meaningful communication is universal. It was a fantastic experience. A seed was planted.

Fresh out of college, Holly had a successful career as a media publicist and event coordinator with one of the largest concert promoters in the Upper Midwest. While working with some of the biggest names in music, she learned quickly how to troubleshoot and problem solve. During this time, the significance of building connections kept resurfacing. Altogether, this had a profound impact and Holly felt led back to teaching through her commitment to education. She began working with students at the elementary school in her South Minneapolis neighborhood. The rest is history.

Speaking of history, Holly is a fifth-generation educator. In fact, her family has built a long-standing legacy of groundbreaking educational advocacy and excellence.  Her great-great-great grandfather, Ralza Morse Manly, was the State of Virginia superintendent of schools and a strong supporter of the Freedman’s Bureau education reform movement in the mid-1800’s. It is with distinction and dedication that Holly carries the torch of education in her family.

Holly has a unique educational background and skill set. She blends her expertise to create a one-of-a-kind approach to mentoring parents, coaching educators, and teaching students of all ages.
